A gusty wind advisory remained in force for the Kiribati group especially the Northern islands. The public is advised to take precautions to minimize possible impacts.

Tide predictions predict tide level of 2.80 meters early morning at 0422am, Wednesday 08th May 2024. Residents living along the coasts are advised to take preparatory measures to minimize possible impacts.

 

The weather forecast for the Kiribati group and Banaba was issued at 0300pm Tuesday 07th May 2024 and valid until 6am.

 

Situation: A trough of low pressure which lies further south of the Kiribati group may affect some parts of the island groups.

Light to moderate northeasterly to easterly winds of 03-15kts.Fresh at times over the Northern islands especially Makin. Island.

Slight to moderate seas.

 

For Makin and Butaritari:

Tonight: Cloudy with light showers later tonight.
